Feedback Guidelines for Build-It-Yourself Action Contraptions
Build-It-Yourself models are judged on three qualities:
1) Action (1-10 points)
2) Materials (1-10 points)
3) Presentation (1-10 points)
A perfect 10 can be earned only in very rare cases. Build-It-Yourself models must project a friendly impression. Mean machines will not be judged.

How many parts move, light up or sound off?
_____ (1/2 points for every part up to 4 points)
Is it serviceable? / Does it come apart easily?
_____ (2 points for good design techniques)
Is it built well?
_____ (2 points if every action part works 9 times consecutively)
_____ (2 points for unusually innovative mechanisms)

_____ A Build-It-Yourself model must be made primarily from junk.
How man classes of commonly found objects or materials are used?
_____ (1/2 point for every class of object or material up to 4)
How many clever shape transformations are used?
_____ (1/2 point for every transformation up to 4)
_____ (2 points for unusual resourcefulness)

_____ A Build-It-Yourself model must look cool.
_____ Are the proportions accurate or do the exaggerations make you laugh? (2 points)
_____ Do the colors vibrate? (1 point)
_____ Are the shapes varied and interesting? (1 point)
_____ Is it universally recognizable from a distance? (1 point)
_____ Are the signs neat and readable? (1 point)
_____ Is it interesting from all sides? (1 point)
_____ Is it crafted well? (1 point)
_____ (2 points for overall unusual presentation )
