The 2012 FLL Problem:
Some senior citizens experience a variety of problems as they age.
Can technology help senior citizens? |

The Mission:1) Research and build a machine that can improve the quality of life of senior citizens.2) Build an autonomous robot to enter the senior citizen challenge competition. Our goal is to learn about robotics and especially to have fun. |

Robot Solution:We built 4 chassis and settled on one with treads in order to climb the stairs (worth 65 points). |

Robot Solution:We built two modular arms. One to get and put chair (30 points) and one to move the quilt (30 points). |

Robot Solution:We used wheel rotation sensing because this simplified the program and was accurate more than 50% of the time. |

Research Solution:The problem we chose to solve is that a significant percentage of senior citizens are sad, lonely or depressed.Our mission is to build a robot that will make senior citizens laugh. |

Research Solution:We built robotic modules to display a joke, tell your fortune and deliver a cookie. |

Research Solution:We wrote a Robolab program to integrate all the mechanical modules.
