Goal:

Engage parents to help evolve content that can inspire and guide the next generation of builders..

 

Topics for discussion:
  1. What are critical 21st century skills?
  2. How should the education system change?
  3. Pros and cons of social networking?
    'Groundswell' by Forrester and Harvard Press
  4. The power of online collaboration.
    'Reality is Broken' by Jane McGonigal, Institute for the Future.
  5. Value of computer gaming skills.
    'Got Game' by Harvard Press.

We envision structuring this program like a book club.  Participants will read chapters or articles and report to the group.  Build-It-Yourself  interns will be invited to present their work to the group.  Parents will be invited to present education projects of mutual interest.

Schedule:

1-hour webcasts scheduled at the group's discretion.

Membership Fee:

No charge for parents of interns or members.
