BUSINESS DEVELOPER (Part time to full time)

We seek a leader who is passionate about education and entrepreneurship to guide Build-It-Yourself in a rapid growth phase.

Responsibilities include:
1) Research, pitch and close corporate distribution partnerships.
2) Coordinate development of regional territories.
3) Evolve social media presence.
4) Secure and manage investment capital.

Qualities we seek in a business developer include:
1) Interest in computer games, art and engineering.
2) Ability to close significant distribution deals efficiently.
3) Experience with social media tools and viral marketing programs.
4) Entrepreneurial mindset ... to work for significant rewards based on success.

Compensation will include 3 components:

CONTENT DEVELOPERS (Part Time, 5-10 hrs per week)

We seek 'builders' (programmers, mechanical engineers, writers, artists or architects) to evolve our libraries of project storylines, functional building blocks, videos, graphics, and lesson presentations.

Responsibilities include:
1) Write project storylines
2) Evolve graphics and videos
3) Develop and document mechanical mechanisms and software subroutines
4) Document and manage projects

Qualities and skills we seek include:
1) Interest in computer games, art, engineering and kids.

3) Multimedia design
4) Building and/or programming experience

Compensation:
$10 - $14 / hr. (+ bonuses based on meeting targets)



OPERATIONS MANAGER (Part time to full time)

We seek an operations manager to run the day to day business.

Responsibilities include:
1) Recruit, train and manage onsite and online workshop leaders
2) Manage customer relationships
3) Invoice customers
4) Send weekly webcast agendas
5) Document results
6) Update website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel
7) Update lesson plans
8) Manage supplies
9) Manage customer database
10) Coordinate the development of regional territories.

We seek a platform and multimedia developer to evolve our web presence, and in particular, Invention Universe, a computer game-like environment for playful inventors.

Invention Universe enables members to customize a planet, post projects, create a personal bio, explore the universe of planets and collaborate with other builders.

Responsibilities include:
1) Design the system architecture.
2) Code (MySQL, PHP, CSS, Javascript, HTML5).
3) Document and manage projects.
4) Direct a team of interns, artists and programmers.

4) Database driven Web application design.

Compensation:
$10 - $14 / hr. (+ bonuses based on meeting targets)



PRODUCT MANAGER (full time)

BIY seeks a product manager to ensure that our development teams deliver products that our customers value.

Responsibilities include:
1) Write and maintain functional specs and wish lists for hardware and software products.
2) Build relationships with customers that drive the feedback loop.
3) Test products.
4) Manage project plans to ensure products are delivered to spec, on time, and on budget.
5) Document customer usage.
6) Update website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel.
7) Support operations manager on CRM.

Qualities we seek in an product manager include:

CHINA PRODUCT MANAGER (part time to full time)
BIY seeks a China product manager to:
1) ensure that our partner in China, TXCIC, maximizes the potential of our China Exclusivity contract.
2) close a development/distribution deal >$100K with CCTV (TV/Media of the Future Education Channel)

Responsibilities include:
1) Write and maintain functional specs and wish lists for hardware and software products.
2) Build relationships with customers that drive the feedback loop.
3) Document customer usage.
4) Test products.
5) Manage project plans to ensure products are delivered to spec, on time, and on budget.
6) Update BIY/China website and social media.
7) Schedule China TAs
8) Customize CCTV TV of the Future proposal
9) Support China resellers

REGIONAL MANAGERS (Part Time, 10-20 hrs per week)

We seek teachers, parents, artists, engineers, and business developers to develop regional territories.

Responsibilities include:
1) Recruit, train and manage workshop leaders,
2) Sell memberships,
3) Schedule and deliver webcast workshops.
4) Guid kids to complete art, programming and engineering projects.
5) Document results.

3) Selling, acting, singing, public speaking

Compensation:
$10 - $35 / hr.
(compensation is based on a percentage of business generated and managed)



WORKSHOP LEADERS (Part Time, 5-10 hrs per week)

We seek artists, engineers, and programmers to lead after-school workshops and summer camps on site in the Boston area and remotely around the world.

Responsibilities include:
1) Teach kids art, programming and engineering tricks.
2) Manage, motivate and engage kids.
3) Document results.

Qualities and skills we seek include:
1) Interest in computer games, art, engineering, teaching and kids.
2) Playful spirit.
3) Selling, acting, singing, public speaking

Notes:
On-site workshop leaders in the Boston area must provide their own transportation.
After-School workshop leaders must be available for 8 to 10 weeks, in 1 to 2 hour, mid-afternoon sessions during regular school weeks.
Summer camp workshop leaders must be available Monday through Friday from mid-June through mid-August.
Remote, webcast, workshop leaders must be available in evenings and on weekends

Compensation:
$10 - $14 / hr. (+ bonuses based on meeting targets)
